I was out on Tapps today. I noticed something floating on the southeast side of the lake. It was a huge Tiger Muskie belly up... It was 40+ inches..... must have been dead a few days due to the white decay on the body.... We need to be more careful with these fish.....If it is hooked deep or not going to make it...Keep it.......I was one of 5 boats circling the dead fish..

AHH Crap!! Thats too bad!! Seen a few floatin dead! Saw a carcass last weekend on the North End missing the head and tail..Not good. I'll try to get in touch with the Deadeye..he's got an in with Steve Jackson of the WDFW...Lotsa guys catchin and killin on Tapps.Keep your eyes open and we got to report these low life chumps!! I don't like pikie minnows all that much but you won't see me killin em'. Thanks for the report cannondaler12...****Remember 50 inch limit, Let em' go so they can grow****

Hook cutters are for deeply hooked fish. Bass and musky alike. Hooks are cheap compared to trophy fish. I've cut three hooks off musky baits this year that were in smallmouth. I'd sure like to see some of those bass fishermen carry hook cutters and use them on musky. Accidents will happen but most can be prevented with a little common sense.
Deliberate killing/mutilation of any fish needs to be reported immediately to the police. They will contact the WDFW enforcement.

One more thing - Tiger Muskies have to be 50" or bigger to keep them. Badly hooked under sized fish do fall into the legal category.
Thank you for obeying the WA fishing laws.

I still think Muskie should be catch and release....But add not to removed from the water...... I know it is great to have a nice photo but on a long fish like Muskie it can be very damaging to pull them from the water.... I just want to see this fishery get better... I still have not hooked one..But just knowing they are there is fun...When I am fishing Smallmouth I always have a rod ready just in case..

But I have gone to a single hook on all the stuff I am gonna throw at them..

I hate to post a negative report but just want people to use their head..50+ inches is great...But If hooked deep use the right tools to get the hook out and keep it in the water......
