Catching is HOT at Tapps! (I say catching because we weren't just "fishing" today) Was on the water at 7:30 and didn't get done catching them until 2:45 when my partner and I left. He was using a cinnamon color twin tail grub and I was using a watermellon color rigged up on a 3/16 oz shakey head jig. Both caught fish. The fish were shallow all day long. It seemed if you could find a stump, or a boat dock (there's plenty of those) you would catch at least one off it. All together a great day. Had the camera but none were really picture worthy (All of them C&R since is spawning season). None the least, they were fish. Ended up landing between 15-20 between the two of us. After the spawn I think I will start taking some of the dinks home with me. Seems like there is beginning to be A LOT of small fish in the lake. Here are some pictures of the mountain though. Where else in the U.S. can you get a view like this while slamming the smallies?

Oh, and for all you muskie guys, saw quite a few of them cruising around today. For those interested in carp, they are cruising around too.

Have fun! Wear sunscreen!

Heyya Bigfish84,
Awesome report !!! Lake Tapps is the coolest I think! Even if you don't catch a fish you get the Mt.Rainer photo ops or an Eagle, Osprey or even some deer in spots..This is a great fishery I definately won't take for granted...ever! Thanks for the report, hopefully we get a chance to meet out on the water. I'm in a white Alumacraft w/black n' red trim. With a Merc on the back end. Stop by and say sup..Muskyhunter..****remember 50 inch limit Let em' go so they can grow****
