Took my sister out to west medical just to tool around. Fished from the dock for about ten or fifteen minutes before deciding i needed a boat...Rented a row boat for the day and left the dock around 11:30. Got out to the deep part (the topo maps in features were handy today) went to the deep section on the west side of the lake (where they all seem to be) and hooked on a 4" pumkin seed to a jig hook. Tossed it out and reeled it back in with some jigging...nothing. Tossed it out the second time extremely slow retrieve and hit hit hit hit hit! so many hits. I realized the worm was too long. cut it into a one inch section with tapered tail. I didn't have any smaller hooks but it worked anyways on a green headed jig hook with the worm I hooked into a 12"ish bow pulled it up to the boat and it flopped off the line. put up a good fight. Next fish was on in minutes and was jumping several times breaching water going under my boat. netted it and got it in the saw the hook up through the eye and roof of the mouth so i knew i would have to keep it. it was about 12"-13". Rest of the day was tugs every cast and smaller 10-13" rainbows. Great day got off the water about 4:00.
