So, I was six years old. I had gone fishing before, but not at this lake. Me and my friend were fishing there (With my father, of course) and we were catching many small bass and whatnot, but then I caught an unknown fish to me. That fish was a sun fish. I had never seen any fish like it before (I was young, remember). So I picked it up, only to find that its spine fin SHOOTS up and nails me right in the hand! Out of my childish anger, I pulled out my very small pocket knife and stuck it right in the head (No fish were to dare touch my little hand, heh heh)! Don't get me wrong, I'd never hurt an animal I wasn't going to eat, but in my little kid mind, that fish had it coming. When I tossed it back in the water, it was swimming (More like sinking) sideways to the bottom. It was kind of funny now that I look back on it.
On that same day, I had caught a very small bass, maybe four inches long... And my friend (My same age) told me that it was too small. However, we could tell that the bait had been removed from the hook... or had it (Here comes the kid curiosity)? We had the idea to use the small fish as the bait, just for fun though (The hook had been swallowed and it was going to die anyways, so why wouldn't a kid have some fun with it?). So I cast it back out, but I accidentally yanked on my pole, I forgot why. When I reeled it back in, there wasn't a fish on the line, but a stomach instead! How weird is that? I didn't know that it was a stomach, until my dad told me, but it was still a funny little kid fishing memory. (Ha ha, don't worry, I just catch and release now, since I'd rather NOT rip out a fish stomach IF I can help it... good times though, good times...)
