Arrived at Amber around 10 a.m. The weather was excellent (mid 60's) with a slight overcast. My set up was a Type 3 sink line with a 12 foot furled leader and tippet(4X). The fly of choice was a size 18 chironomid with a zebra pattern. I fished this setup as deep as possible. Almost all the rainbows were taken on a slow retrieve at a depth that I would approximate at 25ft. Bites were suttle but the fish fought very well. The three best measured 16, 17, and 20 inches. All fish fought extremely well and made some nice deep runs. There were about 7-8 other boats on the lake.

Good job! A lot of folks don't realize how productive that technique can be. My partners and I swear by it. Chironomids down deep, where the fish feel nice and secure. The bite should pick up soon, with jarring takes that yank half your rod into the water! I love it.
