Made it over after dinner around 7. Started trolling my chartreuse wedding ring with a power bait tail at about 15 feet on the south side of the lake. Hooked one little 8 incher bringing my rig in. Started on the north side of the lake at about 8 feet and hooked a nice 12 -13 incher that actually peeled some line off and spun my little raft around a bit. Released him and within moving 10 feet in the raft hooked another. I kept going back and forth in the same area and pulled the same size fish out. I didn't catch as many fish as a few weeks ago, but the size of the fish were great. I only hooked one that was under 12 inches. Wind was slightly blowing and the fish really seemed to bite more around 8pm when it started to get dark. I did learn that using a treble hook with my wedding ring cost me quite a few fish. My hook was tweaked when I got it home.

My setup was 4lb test with 1/2 ounce trolling weight, connected to a 5 foot leader.

Nice fish Gian! Good size to that fish -- by chance did you catch any fish with sores on them? Me and Toad had that problem yesterday. Tight Lines brutha -- K_T_K

Yes I have noticed some sort of 'ick' looking patches on some of the fish. You're the second person to mention it. I thought it might have been caused by someone catching and releasing poorly i.e taking the slime off the fish before release. I caught one the other day that had most of the top of it's head covered by a fuzzy grey coating. did not look healthy.

I heard that those sores are from birds grabbing at the fish

Wonder what the heck that is? Is there a Fish and Wildlife number that we could call that may know? I'll see what I can find. It's a bummer to see these beautiful fish with the "sores" on them.

Good job Toadster. Should look it to those sores. It's becoming more prevalent now and I wouldn't want anyone getting sick over keeping them...a lot of them have the sores now.
