Spend a little more than 2 hours fishing Fragrance Lake from 11 AM to 1 PM on 5/4/08. It was a partly cloudy day with very still water. Fished from shore on my ultralight using a 1/16 oz Red Rooster Tail and Mepps Agila #1 (both silver blades) and had success with both lures. Caught three cutthroat trout in the 10-12 inch range and two in the 6-8 inch range. Had success both casting along the shore and out toward the middle of the lake with a slow retrieve. You could see fish rising close to shore and out in deeper water.
Didn't see anybody else fishing, but lots of hikers coming up around the trail. It was a beautiful day. About the only negative was a dog not on a leash who came up and run into the water right where I was fishing well ahead of its owner.
