I Hit the lake about 4:00. Talked to a county employee who was checking the launch area and he said fishing had been really slow lately.
I launched and trolled the rocky shoreline along the east side, There was a light wind blowing from the north and it was a little overcast and cool. Finder was marking only a very few fish between 10 & 15 feet but I had no luck. I Trolled with a Wedding ring tipped with a worm, then switched to a Dick Knight. Still no luck so I changed to a Rooster Tail. Got tired of listening to the I-5 traffic so I headed under the bridge to the deeper part of the lake.
Spent an hour looking for fish there but only saw a few Bass on the finder holding near the pilings of the bridge. They didn't hit any of my crank or spinner baits and even refused a nice juicy worm.
I also threw a few crank and spinner baits around the structure near Friday Creek and again, no fish showing on the Lowrance. Finding no takers, I trolled back to the launch. The sun did peek out a few time and the wind died so It was a nice boat ride. Water is still a little cold (50 degrees today). I was disappointed in the number of fish I saw on the FF in the places I usually see fish. Maybe next time...
