Fished all day with nephew and niece. We hooked many a trout and since they are novice's we lost most. Nothing like a shrieking 8 year old girl with a big trout pulling line. Water was very cold for opening day and many people just weren't catching them. Way lower than normal crowd, thank goodness and the ospreys were out in force. Scare you to death to have a huge Osprey crash into the water 20 feet away from you chasing fish. I thought the kids were going to jump out of the boat. We tried slow and fast, fast seems to be the speed of the day. Also way deep... Weather was nicer than many of the last opening days. Crisp, but dry and pretty calm. This can be a really windy lake at times. We fished the whole lake but pretty much all bites and fish were taken in south end by boat launch.
