Fish Lake has become the family tradition on the years that we can't make it back home to Okanogan County. After filling up a the fisherman's breakfast, we headed out to the lake and were on the water by 11:00 on Saturday. My son is a novice fisherman but caught several nice fish and lost a few more. After a slow start, much to the delight of my son I might add, I finally found the grove with a green wooly worm. I caught several nice brookies in the 15 inch range and ended the day with back to back 17 inchers, one brookie and one tiger trout.

I headed back out Sunday afternoon and hit the lake about 4:00 p.m. I found most of the fish within 20 feet of the shore on Saturday so concentrated on this area on Sunday. Fishing was a bit slower until around 5:30 but then they started actively feeding in the lily pads. I started tossing the green wooly worm to rising fish and had instant success. My success improved greatly when I lifted the rod tip and wiggled it as I made a long 3 foot strip. It was like watching a shark attack. Many times I could see the wake caused by the fish as it headed to pounce on the fly. Lots of incredible, hard surface strikes. Big fish of the day was another 17inch tiger that had a beautiful gold hue to it.

A great weekend and fun fishing!

Excellent report! I love Fish lake. It would be great if you used the HotSpot tool next time to let us know what part of the shore you were fishing from. :)
