Went to boat launch park with dad and daughter all fishing with Orange power eggs from shore between the trees. This was that first really hot Saturday so we waited until 7:30 pm or so. Lots of boats on the lake. Nothing for an hour so we went to sandy shoreline spit to the left 50 yards. Ten minutes later I got a bite with pole in hand (ironically because I was about to call it quits). Landed a 16 inch trout with great colors. It will by tasty on the grill tomorrow.

awesome. i've been to sawyer twice last year. I didnt catch anything. Not even a bite. But the GF caught a nice size fish there. Did see a lot of top water action. Too far to cast to though.

Is it still $5 to park? That's kinda lame.

Yeah, still $5 to park. Bass should be heating up really soon!

Josh, the reason you saw alot of boats on the lake is because the state stocked the lake with 500 triploids on april 8th. 2000subaru is right,as the water heats up so will the fishing for bass AND trout. nice fish you caught there.

Hey Big Mike thanks for the info. That was likely one of them Triploids then. Them extra genes sure are tasty! Never fished for Bass so I will be doin' that this summer. I got a new raft called "The Fish Hunter" so if you see a couple of yay-hoos on a green raft, that's us.
