Let me get this straight: you caught and KEPT fish that weren't even 10 inches long?

Why not eat a cheeseburger instead of slaying those tiny fish without any meat on their bones?

Guess some people will kill and eat anything, without thinking twice about what they do...

A 10 inch crappie has about as much meat as a 15 inch trout, dude. They look like dinner plates. 9 and 10 inches is big for a crappie. 15 inches is trophy size.

Just sayin' I'd rather catch those trophies, and the only way to get a BUNCH of trophy fish of any kind is to release the little guys.

In the Midwest there are rules on most lakes prohibiting anglers from keeping crappie smaller than 11 inches, which is a better rule than Wash uses, IMO.

Hope you all catch lots of fish, just don't kill everything that swims just because you can.

nothing wrong wth keeping a couple legal fsh for a sandwich. In a lot of these lakes those panfish stay stunted because of over-populations of little fish. I don't fish crappie, but I believe the minmum is 10"?

You got it straight alright. I posted a fishing report and I get back some political feedback. Did I break a law? No! The regs say crappie in roesiger have to be 9". They were all between 9 and I had 1 just over 10. If you think those are trophy fish than you need fish for crappie more. Im all about conservation but if me and a friend taking 7 crappies out of Lake Roesiger is going to ruin the fishing for you, maybe its time for you take up something else. I dont need your bantering. Also, If you cant get any meat off of a 9 inch crappie than learn how to filet a fish. Let them all go and you end up with Lake Cassidy which is a lake full of 6" crappie. As for you not being surprised I don't know what that means. I have no idea who you are but I will suggest you go cry to somebody who cares.

Well all I am doing is posting a report to let people know what is going on where I went. That is what this is supposed to be about but anymore there always seems to be somebody who just wants to start a fight. I try not to break the law and I don't break it knowingly. But if people have problems with me fishing within the boundaries of the law then it really sounds like their problem should be taken up with the state legislature and leave me alone.

In almost every state in the midwest, the only true way to measure a fish is to pinch its tail. This state calls for a relaxed state when measuring. But what does that mean exactly? I mean if the fish has his tail pinched when I measure him is that relaxed? If it opens up is that relaxed? I have no idea. So in the midwest the rules say pinch the tail, that way you get an accurate measurement every single time. Plus it leaves no gray area with a fish that is right on the border of being legal. But this state is full of rules that love gray area,

I’m late responding on this post but felt the need to post a comment. I believe this site is designed to share information and ideas. To have fun and to get to know other folks who love to fish. I don’t believe it’s designed to judge anyone nor is it here to egg on, or “give crap” to someone which results in upsetting anyone. If a person on this site cannot conduct themselves in a sportsman like manner, they need to hit the road. It’s that simple, and no one should be encouraging it or expressing their approval of it! A person who is suggesting someone who posts a report on this site is breaking the law, he/she might want to think about that before opening their mouths. If you have a concern about someone breaking the law, maybe a private message to that person is a more appropriate action than embarrassing them in this public forum. I doubt that any member on this well established site intentionally breaks the law, so suggesting it is offensive. As far as harvesting a limit of fish goes; there is a limit for a reason and everyone is allowed to take their limit every time out if they like, and it’s nobody’s business but their own. If you are a catch and release person for whatever reason you have, that’s also your business and should not be under scrutiny. Mike, if I’m out of line here then I apologize but I think I am on the right track. Joe, well done. Good luck and good fishin.
