I had to give Lake Martha another try after my kind-of success of my last trip there. I was on the water and trolling by eight a.m. and started off with what worked last time, willow blade pop gear followed up by the Kokanee Killer tipped with tiny chunk of worm and a dab of powerbait. Nuttin, not even a bite. I ended up trying different pop gear setups, different flatfish, rapalas, wedding ring, I basically threw everything but the kitchen sink at them with no success. I also varied the depth (just using weight, no downrigger, YET), direction and speed of trolling trying to entice a bit. Even just drifted with a hunk of worm down near the bottom and nuttin. I'm definitely not giving up though, I know they're in there; it's just a matter of time before I find them. Weather was COOOOLLDDD, a little bit of wind (seems to always have just a bit since it's so close to the coast), water was crystal clear and hardly a cloud in the sky. All in all, another beautiful day on the water, even if the fish didn't show themselves. Probably won't be able to get back on the water for a few days, it's gonna be rough, but I'm in F.A. (fisherman's anonymous) and have a sponsor I call when I get the itch, hahaha. See you on the water!
