Got done early at work, so I decided to drop a line in Lake Stevens to see what's happening. The lake was perfectly flat almost the entire time with very little, to no wind. It was a bit chillier than it has been the past few days, but not bad. Anyhow, I decided to try some pop gear with a new z-ray spoon (I think that's what it's called) sixteen'ish inches behind that. Anyhow, it was my first time using this lure and I must say, the action is pretty dang nice; erratic and pretty life-like in motion. Just wish the fish were as impressed with it as I was cuz I got nuttin on it. I ain't givin up on that lure though, I may have just used it too shallow or something weird; time will tell. After that, I used a rapala behind kokanee pop gear which has worked here on many occasions, but nuttin. So, back to the other pop gear and the Kokanee Killer spoon and sure nuff caught a couple dinks, one a whopping ten inches while the other was eight, hahaha. They were both nice and healthy, fat and put back so that hopefully they'll get bigger. I was on the water from 11 am til 3:45 and all in all a very nice day on the water.
