Looking for a challenge so decided to give Lake Stevens another try on Crappie, Never seen one caught there, never heard of one caught there but the state says they are in there so I have to assume they are. Fished for 3 hours, no crappie, no perch, no bass, not even a slimy silver bullet. No bites. It was cold and rainy out though so that made the experience that much better. Used a jig and only changed the color once. Used it with and without a maggot on the end. Tried Crappie niblet as well and Nuttin. Good fishing.

What Lake Stevens needs, what Lake McMurray needs, what Lake Goodwin needs are a bunch of Walleyes. Anyone looking for some last minute Christmas ideas for me, there ya go.

Mike...You and the CAPS LOCK. What is with that.

Troutman, I was doing everything in my power not to catch trout. I know they are everywhere but they weren't interested in my jigs and I wasn't interested in caring about it. It was still fun, lab had a good time. Daughter was ready to go but then at last minute decided to go play with her friends vice fishing in the weather. She can't be my child. Ha.

I too live just across the street from Lake Stevens, and it has been pretty hit and miss as of late on trout. I usually do fairly decent out there, but my last trip was my first time getting skunked there this season. I feel your pain brother!!!!! I ended up hitting Lake Martha (not Martha Lake) during the snowstorm and getting one little fattie and will definitely go back there, I like those little, quiet lakes. At Stevens, trolling seems to be the way to go for trout, a worm down to the bottom around thirty'ish feet seems to do well for perch which can be of decent size and quantity out there. Wish I wasn't workin on my day off tomorrow, I'd be out somewhere fishin, that's for sure!

I'd love to show you the big Crappie in Cassidy, however, I usually only average eight inchers out there. But when they're hittin, it can be non-stop. You're right though, the bigguns gotta be out there; I wonder if that toxic algae bloom cleared up I saw when I was there last in the end of October..? It was real nasty, real bright green, covering the whole lake. I had re-string the reel I used out there, and had to wash the whole thing; I really didn't wanna be the one to spread that nasty crap.

Its hard to attempt Dry Humor when everything including my britches are soaked 8 feet under........

What I need is dry weather and a lake that has fish in it.
