I got my line in the water a little before 7:00 am. The sun was just coming up over the trees and steam was rising off the lake. There were a few morning clouds that quickly went away. I started out fishing a dropshot rig with a roboworm, then a flat tail worm, then a kut tail worm… no takers. Switched rods and went with a weightless 3” senko and bam, fish on! The fish made several runs for deeper water peeling off line before I got my first look at him… he was a big one! Ended up being 17.5” and weighed 3lbs, one of my best smallies! I caught another that was just a tad smaller and caught three more that were in the 14”-15” range. One of the smaller ones that I caught had another larger bass chasing him up to the surface until he saw the boat and turned away. I met a couple of Washington Lakers (Bill G and Deadeyemark) for the first time in person. I'll be watching for your reports guys to see how you did. With bass fishing like this I have a hard time dedicating time to target the elusive muskie.
