Started fishing around 8am in the lily pad/milfoil fields on the North end of the lake (from the boat ramp go right). Caught a 5 1/2 pound bass on the third cast using a blue/white 3/8oz tandem spinnerbait. The lure got caught a patch of milfoil and as soon as I ripped it free, she hit. Took pictures which I will post when I get the film developed.
Not much else happened in the North end. There was too much algae blooming and other parts rotting. I was hampered by having two very inexperienced anglers with me, who were using whimpy little trout poles and hanging there lures on every conceivable snag. I believe we also caught the end of the morning migration of the bass as they were heading back to there summer sanctuary. It was hot without a cloud in the sky. Beautiful scenery, but hard fishing.
Worked down the shoreline with little success until we got to the south end. Had a few takers in one particular patch of lily pads using a white scum frog, but nothing to really brag about or take a photo of.
Side note: I did see some kids fishing from the dock at the city park next to the Moose Lodge who were slaying a bunch of perch with worms near the bottom.
