Thanks to Jordan at 3 River Marine, I was motivated to find some time and go smallmouth bass fishing on Lake Washington. It was a nice evening, a little breezy, which made it difficult fishing the area he suggested as well as I would have liked. My son James and I tried for 30 minutes but he wanted to leave so we headed to a different spot and anchored up for some perch and dinner. We caught a few nice perch and ate our KFC, enjoying the pleasant evening. About 8pm we headed back to "the spot" before calling it a night. The wind was still an issue but the SMB were biting. I used a drop-shot roboworm in greenish hues and caught two, a 14" and 15". I also had a couple other bites that I missed. Depths were 18-22 feet. As we were pulling out I met another Mike from Redmond and he gave me some more pointers on lake Washington SMB fishing - thanks Mike, it was nice talking to you. Maybe we can hit the water some time for that night-time bass fishing you were doing. I'm pretty lucky to get help from guys that know far more about bass than I do.
