My 5 yr old son and I launched our Portabote around 8 am and we fished until 3 pm. I caught 3 medium bass with a silver weedless spoon. The largest one was around 14 inches with little girth. I caught the first one at the boat launch lilly pads. The second in the middle of the pond and the third at the end. My son caught a blue gill on a worm. It rained all day soaking us to the bone but it still beat not fishing. We saw two other boats and a few shore fishers though out the day. This is a great big pond with lots of fish. It has at least 10 or 15 feet of lilly pads on all sides but by the road. It has very thick mill foil? weeds over most of the pond except the deepest part which drains to a creek then Riffe lake.

Nice, I remember 2-3 years ago I was there, did some topwater in the middle of the day over all those weeds on the other side of the lake, caught a couple nice bass.

Is there anywhere to camp on the lake?

I fished there once, I don't recall any camping, just areas to pull off the road and fish. Nearby Riffe and Mayfield offer plenty of camping opportunities.

Lots of camping close by but the pond now has an 8 hr stay like a rest stop. When you could spend the night I went cat fishing late, caught nothing but the next AM I caught a nice 18 inch bass off the shore.
