This is such a beautiful lake.....by far my most favorite campground for tent camping....as they are all on the water!! This is a NO BAIT lake and you are to use only a single, barbless hook. That does make things a bit tricky if you are used to using bait and are not a fly fisherman, but we figured it out. The weather this weekend was quite warm, not sure of the temps at the lake, but at the nearest town, Packwood, the temps were nearing 100 degrees!!!! We hit the lake about 6:00 Friday night after it cooled off a bit. We were both using trolling gear w/ a fly. They were jumping everywhere so we thought they might be close to the surface. Within about 15 min I had one on but it got off before we could land it in the boat....ugh! That was it for that night. Saturday morning my hubby caught one, about 11 inches. Went out that night w/ nothing to report. So, Sunday morning we hit it about 6:50.....only ones on the lake. We went to a spot we hadn't fished yet....fish!
ed for about 1 hour and I caught two, he caught three. Should have went there sooner eh?? :-) This is a very deep lake. My fish finder only goes to 300 feet, and there was one area where it didn't register, I figure it's because we were deeper than 300 feet. I hadn't been to a lake that was that deep yet, so I hadn't experienced the depth finder doing that yet. At the far end, the depth stays around 250 feet or so. The fish were deep for the most part......
