Got to the lake around 5, left at 8. Trip started off with me forgetting my motor at home, so we decided to troll with oars. Next, my buddy picked up one of those floating snails we see every once in a while, and it emptied its horrible smelling payload into the boat. The smell that filled the boat had to be death in liquid form. With no wind, and sun beating down, the smell just got worse. And to top it off, we didn't hook a single trout. Tried many different lures, with and without bait. Just wasn't meant to be. So bad day for us, but still a nice day outside. Although, the problems kept with us afterwards, when my rod snapped while loading it into my car. But I cruised over to Sportsman's Warehouse real quick and they replaced it with a new one for free. So all is good.
