Fished Ross Lake for the first time in 31 years, at a creek mouth that had been a favorite when I spent four summers up in the North Cascades National Park as a Skagit tour guide for Seattle City Light. I was delighted to catch three nice rainbows, largest 14 inches. I was also delighted to observe a couple hundred minnows, too. Looks like the fishery is still pretty healthy. I now live 300 miles away from Ross, so it is rare to get up there, but I really hope to make some return visits over the next few years!
