Fished Long Lake in Thurston County on July 2nd, taking my buddy along. We didnt do so well in terms of numbers, only catching one fish. But that one fish was pretty special. I was working the weedline of some lilly pads flipping black and blue jig with a KGM Craw Trailer. I never swam a jig before, so I decided to try it out today. So on the way back of a flip, I swam the jig along the weedline. Up from the deep came this big white belly and just slammed my jig. I believe the key to catching this big fish was the vibration and water displacement fro the craws legs fluttering up and down. The PIG ended up being 7 lbs. 3 oz. IT was FAT and HEALTHY. It was released to fight again another day. The water temp was 72 degrees, There was almost no wind and she shot out of about 8 feet of water. IT was also in a SHADED part of the lake.
