me and my dad have been trying to understand the lake Washington bass. for some reason we always get skunked there. we went out today with the expectations leaving empty handed again. we got out on the lake at about 6 started fishing around mercer island at 6 :15. my dad caught one right away. i was in the middle of rigging my line when he caught it. i was incredibly jealous. when he pulled it up it was a scum fish. sucker or pike minnow. i laughed i didn't lose yet. we continued trolling from dock to dock. i was still dry so i change from my motor oil power worm to a senko cinnamon color. as soon as i threw it in. bam. got one. it was a fighter. when i brought it up it was a smallie. 14inches. but put on quiet a show for being so small. next we moved just around the dock bend when my dad snagged his line. he needed me to grad him a new set up when my line had a tug on it. when i looked up i saw my line under the motor of the boat so i just thought my line was snagged. when i went over to free my line it start moving. before i could set my hook it was gone. that bad boy had to be at least a 4 lber. i could feel its size by the way it was pulling. guess ill never know. after that the day went dead. but at least i finally caught my first lake Washington bass.
