Got on the lake about 1 pm and fished until 6 pm. It was partly cloudy and about 70 degrees. Surface temperature was 63 degrees and the bottom temperature @50 ft. was 53 degrees. The majority of the fish I saw on the fish finder were between 40-50 ft., basically sitting right on the bottom.
There was very little surface action and little insect activity. I was able to land one rainbow which was about 12". I had an 18" on, but it broke free just as I was about to net it. Both were caught on a wine colored leech fishing deep.
Medical seems to be difficult this year as compared to last year at this time. I think it is because there haven't been many real warm days to get the insects going strong yet.
