South End by Pump House, off point, 5:30am to 8:30am, started with Worm & White Marshmallow, very little luck. Changed to Orange Power Bait, got a few small bites. Lengthened my leader to about 24" added Trout Gravy to the Orange Power bait, got (3) 12+" rainbows that fought like lunkers.
Weather was actually nice that day - no wind, calm waters, mild temps.
People began to clog the point area about 7:45 or so - due to the overcasting of lines and giant saltwater poles decided to call it a day - should of took the boat this morning, fewer boats than people -
Just a moment on the old Soap Box then I will go....IF YOU OWN A BOAT...be courteous to the shore fisherman - like when you did not have a boat and had to fish from the shore - do NOT pull into an area within casting distance off shore where people currently are. Position the boat further out and cast in to where you want to drop you line. That happened this Saturday. Made for a lot of hard feelings as the boater positioned his boat just short of the shore (well within casting distance) and in front of many shore fisherman - everyone on the boat then casted towards the middle of the lake - didn't make sense and a very rude thing to do. Respect other boaters as well as the shore fisherman. We are all out for the some thing - a good time - and some fish.
