I fished Myron Lake from about 4 to 6 pm. I tried for bass in the shallows for the first hour using plastics and topwater crankbaits. I didn't get any strikes, it was extremely windy though, so I'll blame it on that. From 5 to 6 I fished for trout using a small red/white spoon. I got one bite, hooked it, landed it, and released it. It was a beautiful 12-incher; I caught it on the side of the lake closest to the freeway. I left at 6 because the wind was about to blow me into Kittitas County. I'll be back on a calm-water day very soon to pursue bass in the shallows.

Remember, Myron Lake is a selective gear fishery; so be sure to use only single point barbless hooks when fishing it, as well as no bait or scent. The limit for trout is one a day.

If it's a selective gera lake then you can't use scented plastics or any trebled/barbed hooks for bass....

Thanks for reenforcing my statement, if it was directed at me I assure you I don't. I cut the tri-hooks off of the two crank baits I used, a Rebel Wee-R, and a Rapala Shallow Shad Rap, and replaced them with one single-point at the closest to-the-nose hook loop. It makes their action a little wider and more sporadic because they're very small light lures, but no biggey. I'm not sure on the names of the plastics I used, they were all grub variations that I bought individually from "The Hungry Whale" in Westport. They're meant for saltwater fishing but come as small as 2-inches. It's nigh impossible to find scent-free plastics these days; I recall when "the banjo minnow" first launched it didn't contain attractants, and now they do (at least I assume so, the texture is all squishy). Thanks for your concern, and if you'd like to see pictures of any of the gear I use let me know. I'm an extremely "by the books" type of guy, so if the comment was directed at me I want there to be no doubt that I was following the letter of the law.

Also I must of accidently posted this for the 13th, should be the 12th, whoops.
