My friend Rich and I decided to do some fishing after work. Our original destination was Drano, but I got stuck at work. So we hit the water around 7 p.m. and wow the surface temperature was 63.4 degrees. Incredible! So we fished the west side of the lake and within a few minutes we got our first brown trout of the evening.

I wanted to test out my new electric motor that mounts to the cavitation plate of any outboard. It is a 35 lb thrust and you can use your remote steering. Overall the motor worked out great, we were able to troll from .8 to 1.5 mph without a hitch and without loading up my 30 HP Johnson. Top trolling speed was over 2 mph.

Cannot wait for the Sockeye's on Lake Washington! We landed 3 for the evening and have quite a few strikes and lost fish, not bad for about an hour of fishing.

Pretty soon this lake will be too warm to fish. Too bad since it is only 5 minutes from my house. Sturgeon season is around the corner and it is time to try out my new whitewater raft on some of the local rivers.

Next weekend, Wallowa Lake in Oregon for 4 days of fishing!

Cheers!
