Got out on the lake at about 6:30am, while there were a lot of boaters I did not consider it as CRAZY as other, I think there could of possibly been 30-40 boats on the entire lake, probably close to 100 or so on the shore lines throughout the lake. Motored out to my favorite spot, just right of the Pump House at far end of lake, saw the point crowded with people pulling them in...first cast sat on bottom for about 3-4 minutes, pulled in 19-1/2 inch rainbow, wife pulled in a 12 & 13 inch. While windy we used to our advantage, dropped anchor, let wind drift us slowly, fish liked the movement and kept on biting. Used the good old standby of White Marshmallow & Night crawler on #6 hook, 1/2oz egg sinker to stay on bottom. Saw a lot of boaters trolling, but mostly pulling in smaller 12in & under from near the top - bigger fish seemed to be feeding off bottom. Moved to mid-lake after a couple of hours for break from the wind, a couple of bites but nothing serious. While loading up for the day, talked to a few other - one or two with catch of 5-pounders - fishing off shore, bottom fishing. Looking forward to later in the year - if like last year - the youngest boy will do well....
