A buddy and I went out to rock lake today to see if the night fishing was all that the web said it would be about Brown trouts. Sad to say the night fishing did little/no good. I did how ever hook up with a 20" brown and a 17" brown in the late evening around 7pm or so. We stayed till around 1:00am got cold and were no longer receiving any bites so we motored into shore. If any one has any good ideas for night fishing for the big elusive lunker brown by all means please share. Good Luck and tight lines.

Hey beerbohm, the problem is not the time of night, but the phase of the moon and temperature of the water. My best night fishing in Rock comes when the day time water surface temperatures exceed 55 degrees - last week they were only 47 to 50 degrees. I also find that three to five days before and after a full moon, or two to three days before and after a new moon work best there.

Last issue, the big Browns are were the food is. Fishing mid lake at night is easy, but not productive.
