I saw that Panther was scheduled to receive a triploid plant and seeing that it was stocked last year about this time my daughters and I went over for a few hours. When we arrived there was one guy fishing from shore and said WDFW had just stocked it 1 hr ago, but he hadn't caught anything. I set the girls up with marshmallow and worm, and I put on a homemade spinner. First cast good hit, but no hook up. Second cast solid hit then fish on. No triploid, but a nice 10 inch bow. Several more casts and triploid on. Not as big as I've seen them in the past. 14 inches and a bit banged up. Girls were getting bites, but no fish hooked. Fishing went dead for about 45 mins with intermittent rain and some wind. Picked up one more triploid that was 14.5 inches and missing a fin. The girls named this one Nemo!.....The guy next to me switched over to a spinner, but had no luck. Up rumbles the WDFW stocking truck killing any chance of catching a big fish. He dumps in 4,000 6-8 inch. bows and they are going nuts right in front of the launch. I think you could have thrown out a bare hook and caught fish. My girls c&r 5-6 tiny fish and I got one on every cast. It was starting to rain and girls were too cold, so be headed for home. I'm always disgusted by the amount of garbage I see at the boat launches and public fishing spots. Please pick up your garbage so these areas don't get closed. Panther has nice homes on both sides of the launch and there was garbage all over both properties.
