Got on the water about 10:30. Sunny, 60 degrees and NE wind with white caps on the lake. Water temp. 48 degrees. Rowed to the north end to get out of the wind.
Caught 2 total, one on a green wooly leech and one on a bright green bodied Carey (#14) with a red tail. One was 13" and the other was 16". Most were laying in the 7-15ft range. Both looked healthy and had a lot of energy. I had several good strong strikes, but failed to hook them. It should be a good spring this year.
The wind settled down around 2 pm and the activity of the fish seemed to increase then. Left about 4:30 and the lake was quite calm. Probably should have stayed an hour or so more, but the wind had taken its toll on my legs and the water temperature was getting to my feet.
