2nd day on this lake. Day one; trolled the east bank around the bend, thirty minutes on the water and I hooked into a fat hold over! It was no less than 16 inches and probably a lb and a half. Only problem is I some way forgot how to net a fish by myself! Fished for 3 more hour....nothin! Day two (today) fished for 3 more hours....nothin...trolled a hot shot, triple teaser, wedding ring w/worm. NADA!
I hate this lake! I moved to Renton 3 years ago. I stumbled upon this lake before I owned a boat. Fished the dock, and heard the same stupid story about the "5 lb bass that lives under the dock, that broke some kid's pole" 4 times by 4 different people! Do me a favor, because I know if you ever have fished the dock at lake Desire you've heard this story....don't tell it to people like you were there! You weren't! It probably never happened...and I think it's hilarious. This is no lie, I told my friend who doesn't fish much to go check this dock out. He goes, and tells me that some guy told him he saw a "5 lb bass that lives under the dock snap this kid's pole in half one day!" That's 5 times!
Other than that, you have to be a darn good fisherman to catch fish in this lake. I have had limited success. The only reason I keep going back is because it's convenient. I know, one day I'll hook into one of those 4 lb hold overs that the regular dock bums keep tellin me are in there! PS...stop tellin me about Beaver, Spring, and Pine lake when I pull my boat in. I know they're well stocked, but I want to be hard headed and fish where I know they're there, but the fish keep laughing at me!
