OH MY GOODNESS!!! I expected to catch a bass or two today, because Lake Goodwin has both Largemouth and Smallmouth, and I figured even if the water was a little cold for the largemouth I would be able to scare up a smallmouth or two?? No way did I expect what happened.....

It was overcast with a couple sprinkles, and the wind was off and on to about ten mph. I really questioned my decision once I saw the water temp right at 47 degrees...a bit cool for largemouth?? I almost turned around and headed home, as I only had a couple hours to fish anyways due to a birthday party later that afternoon, add to that my late start, and I wasn't exactly "jazzed"....

But, I was there, I was launched, and I figured I would hit a couple of my favorite spots at least, even if it was just for "practice"??

I caught my first bass within fifteen minutes, a very nice 3.9lb largemouth.....four casts later I caught bass number two, a little old 6lb 7oz largemouth......ok.....now I was excited:)

I was fishing a jig, and twitching it quite quickly, those two fish and all the rest I would catch came from about 8 feet of water......ohhhh....how many "others" you wonder????

Here's a list, in order of capture........3.7lbs, 3.8lbs, 1.7lbs, 5.1lbs, 3.9lbs, 3.7lbs, 3.6lbs, 3.2lbs, 2.3lbs, 5.6lbs, 4.2lbs, 1.9lbs, 4.7lbs, 7.6lbs, and 5.4lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my!!

Yes, I was on the water a whopping five hours, and caught 70.9lbs of bass!!!!!!! I HAD to leave or I may have stayed all week, LOL! I will say that this was my single best day of bass fishing EVER, and that 7.6lber was the biggest largemouth of my life to date!! (beat my old best by 3ozs) I do have a couple pics, and even video of the two biggest...I had to use my phone to take the pics, but hey, it worked!

Never did see a smallmouth, but, I'm not about to complain hehe:)
