"Pierce County Parks and Recreation will do some renovations at popular Spanaway Park, resulting in closure of the boat ramp area for three months.
The 135-acre park with about 4,000 feet of shoreline sits next to Spanaway Lake. Amenities include a trail, playgrounds and picnic areas, which also will be closed during the construction period.

Residents can still enter the park during the work.

Boat ramp closure dates: Thursday to June 1. (The area around Shelter 4, including the parking lot and nearby access roads, will also be closed during this period.)

Other key dates: In-water work completed by May 16, and all park amenities reopened by the July 4 weekend."
