Out to try my luck on American Lake. 11:30am a few breaks in the clouds. Went down to Bill's Boat House. There where 7 people fishing off the dock. The owner had told me the bass fishing off and around the dock has been O.K, But the Rainbows were at the bottom and still not active but 2 people had limit out this week. So i gave it a shot. Fishing was very slow, around 2:00 landed my first fish (Perch). Finally after 3hr i got a 7inch Rainbow. While drifting I was by a person on a seadoo, He asked if I caught any carp, I said there's carp in here thats new to me. He said his neighbor had saw the carp at the top of the water by his dock and wanted to make sure that i was not releasing them back into the waters. He Said that he spoke with the fish and wild life Guys and he was told that this was not the first time they have had reports of carp in American lake but they are not native to the water and will try to get them out of there because of what they can do to American Lake and other species of fish. But I didn't see any and I hope something is done about these fish, I can remember when I was just a kid back home in Maryland some Yahoo had done the same thing by releasing carp into one of our local lakes, My father and older brother would go fishing and take there Bow's and take as many of those carps as they could and donate the fish I'm not sure if we ever got rid of those carps. Trout season is near dust of those tackle boxes and get your fly's ready and take a kid or neighbor and enjoy
