First time at Offut Lake and resort's docks.
Cold and glassy with some algae clouding the water.
Got off to a slow start with spinners and spoons. Fish were hitting but not biting the lure...for 2 hours. Switched to fly fishing and hits increased using a white wooley bugger. Had daughter switch to a small Rebel 'crawdad' (sinker/diver) and BAM!!! She started catching large mouths in the shallows. I switched to a 'Mickey Finn' fly with great results. We each caught and released about 10 bass in an hour.
Two old guys were catching small trout with power bait.
I think the 2 ounce slip sinkers were stunning the fish like 'depth charges' or the littered cigarette butts were poisoning the water...causing the trout to black-out and float to the surface.
