Lake is down about 15 to 20 feet from summer high with another 15 feet or so to go to the winter low. Kosmos ramp is still open, but not for long. Another couple feet of drawdown and this one will be unusable. Beautiful afternoon and evening. Tried trolling cranks around the east end of the lake with no luck, but there are still quite a few fishy shallows at this water level and I should have brought the rod that's rigged with jigs for casting to hungry bass. Most interesting part of the trip was observing the status of the new "year round" ramp. This new facility is being built on the east end of the lake right in between dog mountain (the big one that's used by the hang glider folks) and taidnapum park. The gate is now closed but I parked near the gate and walked down through the parking area and to the end of the ramp. The restroom facilities are complete and the parking lot just needs to be paved and the final preformed concrete ramp sections installed and this puppy will be ready for use. I'm predicting a "pre-thanksgiving" opening. Woo Hoo... we are finally going to be able to get our boats on Riffe Lake during the winter months......
