So I made some rants and raves to you (Mike & Aaron) in a few PM’s about a few of my posts being deleted in the muskie section concerning the whole Dr. Hook deal. I expressed that “This forum wasn’t for me” because I couldn’t express being offended about some remarks someone had posted with out being deleted. Aaron, you told me not to leave and to just give it a few days and re visit the forum.
So I did…..
Monday I submitted a review – or just a few comments it guess, and a picture of a nice 3 pound large mouth.
1) My review and pic didn’t get posted.
2) I have made several new posts and my “post numbers” and “points” have not gone up (not to mention the points I lost over the deletion(s)) --- (not a big deal)
3) My comments on “gonefishin’s” report on Silver was deleted (along with everyone else’s) If you didn’t get a chance to read it – people were accusing someone of keeping a tiger that THEY felt was under 36. – No proof. Someone else was encouraging him to “turn in their license number” to the game warden.

Mike Carey – you are correct; in the grand scheme of things this all doesn’t matter.
I would just like to know why my fishing reports don’t get posted, and why my post and point count isn’t going up.

I guess I wont waist time with pictures of the nice bass that we caught last night. I can’t say where because apparently I don’t have the privilege of posting reports anymore.

Ok so I man enough to admit when I have made a mistake.
The report on silver from last Monday was posted either last night or early this morning.. Obviously I discovered this after I started this topic.
However it doesn’t explain the posts & points, and everything else…

Never the less, if you have any rants and raves this is the place.

The rants and raves section is not targeting this website… just rants in general.

Honest Wikstr, you're not being targeted. As noted reports get posted when Aaron or I have the time to review them and post them. We ONLY review to keep the obvious garbage posts off the site (garbage as defined by foul language posts, such as a recent one "this lake is for s***).

Pictures - we currently don't have the site set up for just pictures submitted without the report. If you want to resubmit it with a report we will gladly post it. We wish more people would post reports and the last thing we want to do is alienate the few posters we have.

Points - as Aaron and I have pointed out before (maybe you didn't see those posts) - the "points" came as part of the Forum package which Aaron does not have an instruction manual for. So we have no idea what points are, how you get them, how you loss them. It's a ZEN PUZZLE, I THINK.

Deleted comments - obviously, we are trying to find the sweet spot between allowing people to have the opportunity to post their opinions and also maintaining a civil site. In our opinion, some of those posts were just a little over the line. Please, don't ask for specific criteria because frankly I can't give it to you. We are trying to use our judgement here. We get the dubious choice of either deleting posts (and having those posters offended) or not deleting posts (and having those who feel they were abused offended), and no matter which way we decide one party or the other is pissed off at us.

I will make this observation. The more time I spend dealing with this stuff the less time I have doing what I really want to do, which is working on the site, adding videos, pictures, information, and new enhancements to make the site even more full and complete for everyone. So in that regard we are all losing out. Again, I'll ask for everyone's support and understanding as Aaron and I learn the fine art of managing an active and growing Forum. Finally, I'm not saying don't tell us if you feel we screwed up, because I do want to know when you feel w've over or under-stepped our bounds. Thanks.
