New Microsoft commercials. Funny? Not funny?
Bill Gates + Jerry Seinfield = funny?
I think they're pretty clever, but maybe not as good as the "Mac vs. PC" ads by Apple. They're growing on me though. I did just see a new one though, where Bill does the robot at the end and I laughed out loud. The shoe store one had it's moments too ("The Conquistador runs tight.").
Thoughts?

Enjoy Your Days & Love Your Life' Because Life is a journey to be savored !!!! GO FISHING
As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.
Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health.
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of poop

PC has a long ways to go to catch up with Mac ads. My favorites are "Security", The Counselor", "Stuffed" and "Viruses".

Funny for all the wrong reasons; I'd say they are tragically funny. I am not quite sure why seeing these would invoke any desire to buy a PC or any Microcrap product. What is really funny is the Mojave Project commercials... Microsoft is indirectly admitting the fact that people think Vista is junk (too bad they picked less than convincing actors to play "actual test subjects").

I agree with ER...
I'd LOVE to hear from their marketing guys as to how they think these would help boost sales at Microsoft.....

Seinfeld sucks? I think they're funny. And I'll tell you how these ads work, the fact that a thread was started in an Off Topic forum of a fishing website pretty much says they're working. Ads aren't always about the product - any attention is good.

Like them or not, they're gone.
Personally, I liked them.
Seinfeld: "What do you get with that card"
Gates: "Big top points"

Well as dilbert said they have cancelled them anyways, I personally did not like them. As usual Microsoft avoiding the real issues of their products and using "cheap" gimmicks to make the people to look at their right hand instead left.
They need to come out with linux vs pc commericals.

Funny stuff. He has always seemed a little awkward as such a public person and the commercials really seem to play off that. Good job, I say. Pretty funny.

That article was very good. It is true that "...reinforced the idea that Microsoft is so far disconnected from regular consumers that it has no idea how to talk to them - even in an ad campaign." The have been on top so long that they have lost touch. That is why the Mac adds seem so down to earth to me and with underlaying truth. UNFORTUNATELY I can only afford a PC with XP.dilbert wrote:Like them or not, they're gone.

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

I have to admit that the reason that I like the Mac commercials is because I can relate to them. I have owned both PC and Mac at the same time. For 10 years I have had several problems with the PC and none with the Mac. Mac is so much easier to use. Yes they are more money, but in my opinion, well worth it.

I'm in a mixed house as well. Zero issues with the Mac and our two of our three PC's (desktop and laptop) anger me at least once a week. My next purchase is going to be a Macbook to phase out my PC laptop. The thing about Windows is that only functions properly when it is stripped down, running only Microsoft products or Adobe Acrobat viewer, and disconnected from the internet. My garage computer is completely stripped down with 3.1 and is used almost strictly for viewing .pdf versions of maintenance manuals. I have zero issues with it and it is older than dirt as far as computer lifecycles go (circa 1994, Intel PII 166mHz w/MMX), its actually faster than my current laptop (AMD Turion64 w/4GB RAM running XP)...
RE:New Microsoft commercials. Funny? Not funny?
That was a lame commerical, IMO. Just about a lame as Windows Vista Operating System.
Jerry got some good bank for being part of it though.
