I choose Bass Tracker because I have an old Bass Tracker bass boat I bought back in 1985. It is a 17 ft., deep vee and I still love it.

Alright fellas (were are the ladies at?) this is going great so far.
Anyone who has not submitted a description of how you came up with your name, don't worry you have until Friday at 12pm to do so. I know there are still some cool handles that haven't been explained.
Come on slackers where are you?
Kafelafish
bustin
Silent Angler
Dr. Hook
Rizzla
Lip Rippa
bad esox
ect.......

Even you newer guys, get in here and tell us why you chose your handle. You may just win the "most creative handle award".
Prizes will be revealed when the voting starts.

Bustin - I used to play a lot of online poker until it became a class C felony in Washington State. I chose Bustin as my nickname as in always Bustin out so running out of chips or money, but that was not the case. This was my poker handle and I was ranked in the top 50 for players on Absolute Poker with it. If I ever live in another state and play online poker again or it is legalized then I will probably change my name though, which I recommend to serious players as peopel will start recognizing you by name and leave the table when you come into play if you beat them before. Poker was a part time side job for me then. But now, just regular work. I don't frequent the brick and mortar casinos often, due to having children at home.

Great thread by the way.

All Great names.....

I choose mine of obvious reasons. Just moved here from Denmark 6 months ago. I love fishing, and now have great opportunities to do so, as I live in an appartment right on LW. Fisherdane kinda tells where I'm from and what I like doing.....

I thought my nickname up one day. At the time, I needed a good name for the boat and a good name for on-line fishing forums. Since then the name has just stuck.

Now that we have all the entries for the “What’s in a name” contest we will start the voting.
Since we have had such an amazing response I have decided to break the names up into three separate groups.
A group, B group and C group. I have put them in the order in which you guys posted them. The winners of each group will go into a final show down and then we will have one more vote for the title of “Most Creative Handle”.

-CONTEST RULEZ-

*You get only one vote per group and it cannot be your own.
*How your post should look:
Ex.
A. Billy
B. Tommy
C. Jenny

*Please only post once.
*You have to read the descriptions of why that person chose the handle and vote for the name as well as considering the story behind it.
*The voting will continue until Friday of next week, July 20th, at 11:59pm
*At that time, I will take the winner of each group and we will all have a chance to vote again for our favorite handle out of those 3. (even if you favorite handle doesn’t make it to the final round, please vote on your favorite out of the top 3)
*I will keep track of the votes on this page by putting an (*) by the name each time it receives a vote.
*In case of a tie we will continue the voting until there is clearly a favorite name.

-PRIZES-

$20 worth of fishing stuff, WashingtonLakes.com gear, and a guided boat ride in the Bodo tub.

I am willing to put up money for this, but instead I would like to buy the winner something.
So the prize is going to be winner specific.
Think of something that you have been needing, wanting or thinking about lately. Maybe even a couple of things. I will buy the winner up to a $20 value prize/s.
Also the Supreme Overlord Mike Carey will send the winner WL.com gear. (“gear” to be determined by Mike)
Bodofish has kindly offered a trip in his "bodo tub" to the winner and promises a bodofishing good time. :bounce:
If there is anyone else that would like to contribute a prize to the contest please let me know.

Well, I'm late, but I'll still provide the "where from". As most, I needed a handle for the new site, and since most of my other on-line presences are car-related, none of them would do. So, here's the story.

Shortly after being assigned to Fairchild AFB in 1990, we were looking long and hard for a house. We lived in an old military duplex sitting on the waterfront of Medical Lake. We fished every day, come in the front door, change clothes and run out the back door, down the hill to the lake. I got tire of being "shorebound" so put the word out I was looking for small aluminum boat. My neighbor knew someone who had one for sale so I bought it, and old 10' Sears Gamefisher with a round bottom - one tippy boat definitely not one not to stand in. Get in and sit down!!! I kept that boat for awhile and then saw a Hewewscraft 16' with new canvas on the "Lemon Lot" on the base. It was $3500 (in 1990), but we were going through closing on our house and I passed it up.

Years later, I sold the Gamefisher after we bought a nice 14' Hewescraft open fisherman with a 15hp Merc and that became our weekend getaway whenever we could. We really enjoyed that boat, took it everywhere, and I could launch it in minutes. Two years ago, I started getting the itch for a new boat since my wife is a fair weather angler. We really missed out on some good fishing as the boat would be put up for the winter. Sooo, we talked about it and then made the trip to Skipper Bill's and drooled over the then new '06 models. After a couple days of talking it over, we agreed to buy a new boat and sold our old boat to my brother who lives in Roy.

When trying to come up with a new handle, hewesfisher just came to since I am a big fan of Hewescraft boats.

No kidding on that request - fishnislife has blown me away by organizing this contest. He'd better watch out because he may find himself drafted for other stuff down the road. Thanks Fishnislife!

This is all so cool... BTW, I'll be sure to drum up a nice package of goodies for the winner.
