Hotspots?

Post by Larry3215 » Wed Oct 14, 2015 5:13 pm

Im wondering if its just me or user error or a bug, but several time recently I have been unable to see the hotspots when someone posts a report. In a couple of cases the Hotspot was many miles from the nearest water, but the most recent ones just had no hotspot that I could find.

Here is the most recent one:

http://www.northwestfishingreports.com/ ... lid=14&t=2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks,

Larry

Edit: I didnt zoom out far enough. The report is for Gig Harbor but the hotspots show up in Centrailia and dont seem to be for the same report at all!

There is a number 2 south of Olympia. And a number 3 off the coast.

Interesting. I get 3 in Centrailia and none off the coast.

Weird indeed.

Aaron will see this and check into it. Thanks for the bug report.

Well isn't it a hot spot? Pike Place? They got fish
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Very easy to catch, and you can pick which one you want. With guaranteed results.

Here is another recent report with odd Hotspots. They appear to be from two different reports and one is on a river and the other is miles away in the Sound.

You don't suppose that the people are doing it on purpose?

I wondered about that - and I suspect some people do put them in the wrong places. But in some of the recent cases the individual Hotspots seem to be from completely different reports. In that case above, the hotspot on the river has a description that is for that river while the one in the sound seems to match the original report.

I can see some people putting Hotspots in the wrong place to hide their favorite holes, but why put one in the correct spot and one 30 miles away? Plus I cant see them going to the trouble of talking about a park near the river when the original report was about Bremerton salmon.

What I find interesting is that they seem to show up differently for different people. That sounds like an odd bug to me :)

Yup, I agree with all that.

Once again they seem to be from different reports.

Aaron is aware of this bug and with the next site version (coming in the spring) we hope this issue will be resolved.

Yup, hotspots 1 and 2 are from a report by Mike Carey on the Palouse river from 6 May 2013.
