Is it my computer or the site?

Post by AJ's Dad » Wed Sep 23, 2015 5:42 am

The last few days I have had an issue when I select to go view a report or forum thread. When I click to go, it takes me past the post and goes to a screen that is blank except for a Keen shoes ad at the top of the page. I can hit the back button and get to where I wanted but it's quite anoying. Anyone else having this issue?

We had an issue with a kobuto ad, not a shoe ad that I am aware of. The kobuto SD issue was fixed. Let us know if you still see your issue.

Sounds like a browser problem - or perhaps pop-up setting.

Try a different browser than the one you usually use, and see if the issue persists.

It's still happening to me but not every time now. In fact, it did it when I clicked on this thread.

Haven't seen a single ad here since enabling Ad Block Plus in Firefox.

We don't want the ads to be an issue, but they are the way we pay the server bills. Can you get a screen shot next time that ad gives you an issue? Then we can fix the problem.

Although my wife thinks I spend entirely too much time on the computer, I have never mastered the ability to "Take a screen shot" If you can tell me how to do that I will give it a try.
It is still happening this morning.

Here's what I see quite often when I try to view a forum post. In fact it came up again when I tried to access this thread. Just a blank page with a KEEN ad at the top. Sometimes the ad looks diffrent but it's always KEEN.

Are you experiencing this with more than one browser?

Have you tried changing browsers?

Is your pop up blocker set to block pop up ads?

I know that I mentioned these things in a previous post - however you haven't told any of us what you've done so far in an attempt to eliminate some of the possibilities.

I'm confident the issue can be eliminated - but like most else that is problematic - trouble shooting seems the clear path.

The best of luck.

I have run the cc cleaner on my computer and that's it at this point. I imagine that's not a fix for this problem though. I was mostly mentioning it in case it was a site problem. If it's my computer I will get it taken care of on my end. I'll look into it further here.
Thanks for the input.

Excellent work. I've forwarded this off to our ad publisher for review. They always get things fixed.

Our publisher has informed us that they will be disabling the Keen ad shortly.

It annoys us, also. We don't expect the companies that serve ads to us to break our pages. [mad]
