browsing problems on mobile phone
browsing problems on mobile phone
I'm having problems using my phone with the site. Android phone and Chrome.
When I log in, then view a report with hotspots and click on the hotspot button, I'm suddenly not logged in any more. I get directed to the old page about registering/upgrading to be able see hotspots.
I've also checked the box to have the site remember me, but I have to log in every time.

I've altered your user group settings. Logoff, logon, and try again. Let me know.

It's still logging me out as soon as I click on latest reports. It's done it when I click on forum tab too, but not every time.
actually I'm not sure when it logs me out when I'm looking at the forums. It just seems to happen every once in awhile.

Re: browsing problems on mobile phone
Everything seems to work fine on the desktop system.
Re: browsing problems on mobile phone
Desk top browsing is working perfectly, but my phone is still not keeping me logged in when I click on Latest Reports.
I finally figured out how to delete my history, cache, site data, saved passwords, auto fill data and cookies in Chrome on the phone. I also clicked on the button to "delete all board coolies" at the bottom of the page.
That still didn't fix it.
Any other ideas?

Larry,
Unfortunately, I think you're on your own until our new site is live later this year. There has always been a weird issue with staying logged into the site... for some people it's not a big issue, for others it is.
One thing of note is that your auto-login session on your phone uses a different cookie than your desktop. If you auto-login on your phone, it should stay logged in... but if you then use your desktop and come back to your phone, it might want you to login again due to a cookie difference.
Also, when you come to the site, always visit the forum first. The forum is the part of the site that logs you in, and sometimes the rest fo the site will not see you as logged in unless you've been to a forum page before that. So... long story short, bookmark the front page of the forum as your site bookmark, and then proceed to other areas of the site from there.
Hope that helps.

Re: browsing problems on mobile phone
Thanks Aaron. Ive tried changing the bookmark to the forum page, but so far it still wont keep me logged in when I go to check reports or do "upgraded" things like check hot spots.
Would getting a new account just for the phone help? I have way to many e-mail accounts, so using a different one for the phone would be no big deal.
I will also try a different browser on the phone to see if that makes any difference.

Re: browsing problems on mobile phone
No need for a different account for the phone. I tried two different browsers and they both work better than Chrome. I like Dolphin bestso far, but CM Browser works too.
Re: browsing problems on mobile phone
Oops. Double post. Need to figure out how Dolphin works I guess !
