Lake Chelan Kokanee Get Together

Post by Mike Carey » Mon Apr 15, 2013 12:37 pm

rseas and I will be hitting Lake Chelan the weekend of May 3-6th in hopes of catching more of those fantastic KOKANEE!

We'll be staying at Lakeshore RV Park:

http://cityofchelan.us/parks/rv/rv_park.aspx

He'll be in the tent section, spot "F". My wife and I will be in the first section, "A", spot 5.

This is an open invitation to other WL.com members to stop by and say "hi" and maybe get a flotilla together on the water. I would expect rseas will be grilling a feast on Saturday evening.

We hope to see you there!

Hey Guys, I'm scheduled to work those days so won't be able to contribute to the festivities (fishing that is), but may wander over to listen to some tales of the day after shift ends. I'll keep following the thread for more details. Should be a great fisherie going on, so look forward to seeing you guys.

I'm putting this down on the calendar, as i have been dreaming of some koke fishing on Chelan. But its finances pending currently.... if they pay check is good i can afford to drive the truck over, and camp haha. It would probably just be a day trip.

I am scheduled to speak at Kokanee Kraze on May 4th.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

If it wasn't for the fly expo I'd be all over a Chelan trip. Nothing like boating next to people who've fished there before for the "short course".

all right, that's great to hear. Will you be staying at the Lakeshore RV Park then? Where do you plan to launch?

If it were me with an 11 ft boat I think I'd launch up at Mill Bay, which will put you close to the fishing areas. The other launch is in town and you have to run up a ways before running on a plane. Do you have a gas morot on your boat?

If it were me and an 11' boat, I'd just go up Wapato or Rosa and fish in a protected area. The wind on Chelan turns on and off like a light switch with 20mph being a good starting figure, I don't care how fast an 11' boat is. Best of luck! and have fun.

Hey, Rseas here. I glad to see some interest in our little get together. I think that it will be fun to host a some level of potluck for a number of the meals. I plan to do the primary meal for Saturday night and then a delayed breakfast (we'll be fishing in the morning) late Sunday morning/early afternoon. For both meals I will provide the main course and associated accompaniments. I think that I know what I am making but I am still fine tuning the plan. Participants will need to provide their own drinks and any special dietary needs. We're looking forward to meeting everyone and some fishing in the sun!
