just got back and it was slower than expected but decent action saw around 10-20 fish hook or landed and some big ones in there too saw a 18+lber get flossed, nice fish too. A local friend got one with a messed up nose like FFs steelhead a while back, pretty wierd haha. I was mainly around deadline to the plunkers.

I'm heading down Wednesday. What are they hitting on more eggs or shrimp? Where's the deadline. Where exactly are the fields. Sorry but I had to ask.

here is a link to the skookumchuck area. The heavy, light blue outline is the area owned by Transalta that operates the damn and you can see the 'fields' in the lower section of that area. The access area extends nearly to the powerlines. Beyond that is private property.

Skookumchuck is controlled by a dam so it is always fishable. The more rain the better.

One more thing, actually two lol.

1. I have 12lb leader on, too much or too little?

2. I'm gonna be using 2 different setups, one with a baitcaster tossing eggs and shrimp under a float, then the other with a purple and blue little Cleo lure. Will the Cleo produce?

12 should work. I always run 12 fluoro under 20braid. The last fish i hooked was on a gold little cleo. Pretty cool how hard the fish hit the spoon.

I would skip the spoon and go with a corky or bead, that seems to be producing better right now as they are starting to spawn.

what ever looks like an egg or is pink I guess, doesn't really matter at the skook as long as you put it in front of their face or if it has some sell to it.

I've got eggs and fake eggs haha, and pink yarn and pink worms lol. Is 2 and a half feet of leader to much or just right for the skook?

dude it does not matter what you use something that works on one river will work on the skook. Just stick with dark colored jigs or bait/corkies. Personally I have not done any good with pink worms there though.

Skook heating up at all? Or is this another river doomed for a slow steelhead year?

prmetime my guess is that it is a combo of a down year and a late year, the fish are in there just not as much as last year, give it a little while longer and I bet they will be in there loaded.

As of late it's been heating up as I've heard from multiple people. I'm looking for the exit # for skookumchuck rd off I-405 but its not showing it. What's the exit
