Yeah.. not sure why the IP banning hangs the entire site up. Just don't use it for now, send the IPs to me and I'll add them manually to the DB. Perhaps our next forum update will fix this.

The administrators can go to the Mod's Logs and see all those that need deleted. All the ones that get banned are there. I always state where those banned are from. Maybe the Admins can do that every day like I check every new member many times a day.

louisvuittonhai is from korea, there is another from china, many from russia, bangladish, norsomecrap, and so on.

One new guy is from Canada and he is still being watched as 2 of his posts were just quotes of another post so I deleted those 2 posts.

Our group of mods and admin monitor the forum pretty close so fortunately this stuff doesn't stay up for long. It is a never ending battle. Aaron did a few forum updates after the last spam attack which seem to be helping. A lot of stuff doesn't get through now.

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

gone. I can imagine someone in the Ukraine making these posts, and he suddenly sees his posts disapear and he is unable to log into his new account or create another. I like to think it maddens the crap out of them. I can hope, anyway.

Thanks Toni!

The flood gates are open because I was told I didn't need to do the 'head them off at the pass' deal I WAS doing. As I said "They will spam the hell out of the site now" and they are.

So, when I see a spam I'll deal with it, if another mod/admin sees a spam it'll get taken care of at that time. Instead of hardly any spam. [biggrin]

Amx, I think tend towards a bit heavy handed on the requests for more info on the ads but on the spammers I like your way. I'd nip them in the bud before they post at all (like you do). It's fairly easy to spot the potential spammers when they create accounts.

Here's a thought. Mike and Aaron should use you to approve new accounts.

When a request for more info is asked, that info should be posted without any further requests, and with proper details. [laugh]

I thought about the idea having all new member's approved, which some web sites do, but that would be a LOT of trouble and time consuming, no somethig I'd want to do.

How many requests for new accounts each day? The more I think of having accounts approved the more I think it's better than reading every post. One person can spam with 5-10 or more posts but if they don't get an account there's not even one post.
