I like the video yaaaaaaaaa. ummm, for those of you that watch the video, notice how hard it is for ff to get the hook out of that hen. Thats why you use quality 1/0 hooks and set like a champion, no way that fish would ever come off.

Re: Steelhead Pictures 2011-2012
My buddy natewatters and I had to go see what all this talk about the skook was about... HOLY HELL! There are some HUGE fish in there. Landed the 2 biggest steelheads I have EVER caught, today. Big thanks to FF and natetreat for the hot tip and constant fish porn. Glad I finally have a couple photos worthy of posting. First fish was about #14 and the second a solid #10. TOTALLY worth standing in the pissing rain all morning for these

Quick steelhead reg question? Is it legal to release the dark steelhead caught on bait untill you get a chromer?

Check the regs on the specific river you are fishing, but in most cases - yes. I'm kind of a chrome snob that way, I get enough fish that in most cases I don't keep anything that is not bright.returnofthefish wrote:Quick steelhead reg question? I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Yep, that was the rock you told be about. Such an AWESOME spot! It was quite packed in the morning, but seemed to clear out in the afternoon. Glad it did too... that's when I caught these. Thanks again for the helpful advise and posts! Hope to start contributing more often
Re: Steelhead Pictures 2011-2012
riverbound- i was the guy fishing when you were walking out on your way back to seattle in the corner hole, ended up hooking into 3 more just as the sun went down with glowball and yarn but it was a fairly slow day in the corner hole for me

Hey Ingi! Great meeting you. If I had known, I'd have stayed and chatted longer. Glad you got into a few fish. That glow balling sounds fun! Bummed I'll be traveling and not able to get back out there for a cpl weeks. Guess I'll have to live vicariously through your and FF posts. Thanks for making the connection. Hope to run into you again sometime!

Good Luck and Safety!!! I fished and crabbed for years and at a point you realize it's time to change the odds, two close calls and I work on dry land now.ingi wrote:yeah for sure, im looking forward to some springers on the cowlitz, and thanks for the safe wishes
Good luck!

yeah if I had a economy to stay home in washington with a good job I would stay in an instant, I graduated in may with no luck finding a job, I will find a job but it takes time, hundreds of applications with only 2 interviews, but when I go up fishing atleast I have straight vacation time which equals fishing every day the fiance' has work, also hence the word fiance' i have a wedding in september to pay for, thanks bodo

Re: Steelhead Pictures 2011-2012
Usually the rule is you can catch and release with bait the same number as your allowed to keep, after that your supposed to stop using bait to c&r your way weeding through darker fish
