There have been reports of break-ins on the this forum (and others).
I'd like to ask those who know the details if the vehicles had alarms and if so were they effective?
Or even better yet, if someone knows of a break-in that was averted by an alarm system.
I'm thinking of installing an alarm, but they start at about $250.00 (installed).
That constitutes a major investment for an old man on social security and I don't know if it would be worth it.

RE:break-ins and alarms
I bought a used Honda with a silent alarm. It was the most basic alarm that self arms and it didnt even have a alarm siren. My car was broken into and the ignition popped. The silent alarm saved my car. If someone really wanted to steal your car or truck, they will. The alarm acts as a deterrent.
