FYI, Coulon beach is closed due to fecal bacteria. Hopefully it'll clear up by the time the BBQ hits.

So we just can't throw anyone in the water at the beach. Ohhh! Is the launch open as well?

the launch is open, i used it 2 times this past week. and all the fishing piers are open. i didn't even know anything was closed until this was posted...if the water is contaminated i don't see why the park should be (and it says nothing about the park being closed in that link).

The parks not closed, only the swimming area...(sorry...the bathrooms were locked and I couldn't hold it) LOL

I'm having Bill Murry flashbacks at the bottom of the pool with the Baby Ruth....LMAO, this is too funny. Leave it to us to schedule a BBQ at a crap invested park. Floating poop or not...I'M FISHING!!!!!!

It must not be too bad, I saw two bus loads of kids unloading last week.

They closed down the beaches around noonish Friday. I wife was at Juanita Beach with the kids when they posted it. Luckily the kids were only in it ankle deep.

It's actually the 2nd time Coulon beach has been closed this year (that I could tell). Last time, it was closed 1 week (7 days). So we should be pretty good unless it's really bad.

Here's a little more detail on the July closure from the king:

I have just found out I will unfortunately be unable to attend because it is my great grandpas 100th birthday that day. I figured since he lives in Fall City, when the party ended I would zip on up the valley and go for Pinks on th Sky since it is not to far off. I feel it is a little more important to celebrate a centenial of a family member. Sorry, I wish I could attend. Mabey next time.

I received the baits to be awarded as prizes at the bbq from Dan of danieltbaits.
Here they are.
My favorite has got to be the rainbow trout. I am very impressed by the quality of these chatterbaits. Dan knows what he is doing.
If you are interested in picking up a couple go to http://www.geocities.com/danieltbaits/ and order some.
Be sure to be at the bbq on the 15th for a chance to get your hands on these hot baits. See you there.

Thanks again Dan.

Dan...thanks for kicking down some merch.

I've got Sportco throwing in a gift card and free membership and Sportsman's Warehouse is putting together a nice "box of stuff" for us. I'm still waiting to hear back from Joe's and Boater's World, sounds like their in as well.

All in all, sounds like we have some cool stuff to hand out at the BBQ

Just want to let everyone know, my BBQ is on life support, not sure what's going on. I heard someone offer to bring some coals. Might be a good idea. I'm going to try and fix it between now and the 15th, but it looks like we're going old school BBQ on this one.

I'm going to bring stuff to clean the on-site BBQ's, unless someone wants to bring their's.

UPDATE:

We are going to have a BIGGEST FISH as well as a CASTING CONTESTcontest. Awards will be given out for both events (yes, REAL awards!!!). You only have a few days to sharpen your skills and pray to the fish gods that the 15th is your day.

I'm going to the park early to snag a good spot for us. Look for the yellow caution tape, that'll be us. I'm working on getting my kids to make up a big "WashingtonLakes.com" banner, we'll see how that goes.

Just as a reminder, a few of us are gonna hit the water around 7 a.m. (pontoons, float tubes, canoes, etc.) you're all welcome to join us. This will give us a chance to get some good fishing in prior to the BBQ.

We've been able to get the support from a few local business to kick in some prizes. Lots of stuff will be handed out.

I look forward to meeting all of you there, I think it will be a really fun day.
